The Romantic Story of an 86-Year-Old Bride

By 9  am on
Many people believe romance is reserved for the young. However, the story of Millie Taylor-Morrison, as discussed here by the Palm Beach home care experts at Home Care Assistance, shows love can happen to anyone at any time, no matter how young or old they are.

A Second Chance at Love

When Millie married Harold Morrison in 2016, it wasn’t her first marriage. She got married to her first husband in 1952, and the relationship lasted until his death in 1992. This loving marriage led to a large family of children and grandchildren.  However, Millie got another chance at romance when Harold Morrison re-entered her life. Harold was a longtime friend and was even a guest at her first wedding. They were members of the same church, and Millie has fond memories of chatting with him before singing in the church choir.

Eventually Millie and Harold lost touch. However, they reconnected when Harold began attending her new church, New Beginning Faith Fellowship Ministries. Millie was happy to see him once again and admired his keen sartorial style.  When Harold became sick, the pair’s friendship blossomed into something more. Millie invited Harold to move in with her instead of checking into a nursing home, and he accepted her generous offer. When he recovered, they decided to tie the knot.

The Wedding

Millie and Harold got married at Zion Hill Baptist Church. The pair recited their vows in front of 200 guests, who were all happy to attend this unexpected wedding. A large group of grandchildren made up the bridal party, and the bride designed her own dress.

It’s Never Too Late

Now that Millie and Harold have tied the knot, they say their daily lives haven’t changed too much. They still express their love for each other and pray every morning before breakfast, but now they can look each other in the eye and know they’re married in the eyes of their friends, family, and God. And because of this marriage, Millie is happier than ever.  This story is a classic tale of love happening when it is least expected.
